On October 2-6, 2023, the seminar “Experience Sharing – Third mission of universities & University
Community cooperation” was held at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The team of Sumy
NAU was represented at this event by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Margarita
LYSHENKO and Professor of the Department of Marketing and Logistics Victoria MAKAROVA.

The UNICOM Project Coordinator, Professor of the Faculty of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Hynek
ROUBÍK acquainted the participants with the peculiarities of the national regulation of the third mission
of higher education institutions in the Czech Republic, presented successful practical cases of university
community cooperation in European universities and focused on the ability of universities to serve as
catalysts for positive change not only in their communities but also beyond.

Professor Stacy HAMMOND discussed the importance of communications in the context of
strengthening the third mission of universities. She introduced the key tools for promoting scientific
ideas and projects, noting that without proper dissemination of their own scientific materials and
research, many higher education institutions, scientific institutions and research organizations simply
cannot be involved in cooperation with business and other social partners, as their scientific
achievements and developments are unknown to society.

The use of artificial intelligence in the search for ideas and directions for research was discussed with
Professor Jan STAŠ, who demonstrated the capabilities of such services as DeepDream, Runway ML,
DALL-E, Artbreed in creating graphic material and presentations, and detailed the possibilities of
combining such services as ChatGPT and Midjourney in visualizing research results.

As part of the training seminar, on October 5-6, the Faculty of Tropical Agricultural Sciences held an
Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference of Young Scientists in five scientific sections, where the
participants had the opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues of the day and learn about practical
European practices of combining the academic community with society, contributing to the sustainable
development of the country.
